The best advice I can offer for someone having trouble getting a grip is, "Be still and KNOW that I am God." And once the heart is at peace and calm, listen to great music that has depth. One of my favorites (without regard to the artist) is "THE ANCHOR HOLDS."
And although my ship is battered and my sails are torn, the anchor holds. Praise God!
A classic, great devotional is "Streams in the Dessert" that now has a music CD with one off my favorite songs, "The Only Thing I Need (I already have)".
