Great quote. Why do we assume that when things are peaceful God is near? I've always noticed it's the opposite. The closer I get to God the more turbulant things get. The enemy attacks - God leads me into areas I have not been - life gets unstable when God is near.
You brought up the many and various trials we may endure in ‘The Pursuit’ a year or so ago.
The Psalmists, Jesus, Paul, etc., there is so much Biblical testimony that our Christian walk is like more like signing up with the 'Master and Commander' than the 'Love Boat'. (part of last comment courtesy of Dr. Andy McQuitty, Senior Pastor, Irving Bible).
